BimaBro: A Legacy of Integrity and Service in Insurance
In the noble profession of insurance, the true heroes often go unnoticed. These are the individuals who dedicate their lives to serving humanity, providing support in times of financial distress, and bringing hope to those in need.
One such inspiring story is that of BimaBro, founded by the dynamic father-son duo, Rajesh Chetan and his sons, Raghav and Keshav Jain.
The Vision of Service
Rajesh Chetan’s journey began in 1989, when he became an LIC advisor driven by a profound sense of ‘Seva Bhaav’, or the spirit of service.
He viewed insurance not merely as a product, but as a vital service that could transform lives. Unlike many in the industry who engaged in mis-selling practices, Rajesh adopted a philosophy of ‘right selling’, where he prioritized client needs and treated them with utmost respect.
His approach was simple yet powerful: treat customers like family, especially during claims. This dedication earned Rajesh immense respect in a field often plagued by a trust deficit. He instilled these values in his sons, inspiring them to carry forward his legacy.
A New Generation of Innovators
Raghav Jain, Rajesh’s eldest son, pursued an MBA in Insurance from the Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) and began his career at SBI General Insurance, where he served for over nine years.
Keshav, the youngest son, also an alum of BIMTECH, started at Reliance General Insurance. However, both sons felt a strong calling to continue their father’s mission, leading them to establish BimaBro.
At BimaBro, Raghav and Keshav emphasize integrity, transparency, and long-term relationships with clients. They view their clients as partners and well-wishers, offering support that goes beyond traditional insurance services.
Their commitment to personalized care has fostered deep trust and lasting relationships.
A Moment that Defined a Career
One of the defining moments of Rajesh’s career occurred in the 1990s when he helped the family of a tailor who had passed away unexpectedly.
Rajesh had secured the tailor’s future by introducing him to an LIC policy, Jeevan Mitra. After the tailor’s death, Rajesh diligently ensured that the claim was processed, resulting in a cheque of Rs. 6 lakhs for the grieving family.
The tailor’s wife, overwhelmed with gratitude, broke down in tears, expressing heartfelt blessings. This experience reinforced Rajesh’s belief in the value of his work and inspired him to serve others with even greater dedication.
Upholding Ethics in a Challenging Industry
While the insurance industry is filled with opportunities, it also presents challenges, particularly with unethical practices.
Rajesh and his sons have taken a strong stand on ethics and integrity at BimaBro. They prioritize transparency and education, empowering clients to make informed decisions.
Raghav and Keshav are committed to providing clients with the right information, fostering relationships built on trust in a highly competitive market.
They also seek to create a niche by offering solutions in specialty products like Liability and Surety Bonds and focusing on digital distribution of insurance to adapt to the changing landscape.
Advice for Aspiring Insurance Professionals
To those aspiring to succeed in insurance, Raghav and Keshav offer profound advice: always be a student of the industry.
The market is rapidly evolving, and staying relevant requires continuous learning and the ability to unlearn outdated practices.
They emphasize the importance of understanding products deeply and communicating complex solutions clearly. Moreover, they highlight the significance of maintaining a strong ethical foundation.
Trust is the cornerstone of the insurance industry, and prioritizing clients’ best interests will yield long-term benefits far more than unethical shortcuts.
Lastly, they encourage a mindset centered on helping others. Recognizing the far-reaching impact of their work can be both rewarding and motivating, driving success naturally.
